Look at how beautiful Teresa captures these awesome buttons..I've never met Teresa but, did do a fabric swap with her and she sent the most beautiful items. I find her pictures to be sooooo interesting.

I'm thinking of taking up a photograpy program locally hence the amazement at her picture taking. I love great pictures and especially the ones take of the ordinary everyday items.. candid shots etc.

Teresa captures the most beautiful shots based in Portugal. I must say that I only dream of visiting such a beautiful country one day.

dinner tonight

1 pound dried spaghetti
1/4 cup olive oil
1 1/4 cups mixed olives, pitted and halved
1/2 tablespoon red pepper flakes, plus more if desired
3 cups tomato sauce, recipe follows
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1/2 cup basil leaves, shredded

In a large pot, bring 6 quarts of salted water to a boil. When water comes to a boil, add pasta, stirring constantly for the first minute to help prevent spaghetti from sticking together. Cook until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes.
In a large saute pan, heat oil. When almost smoking, add olives and red pepper flakes. Saute for 3 minutes over medium high heat. Reduce heat to low and carefully pour in tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.

Drain pasta in a colander, reserving 1/4 cup pasta water. Add pasta to the sauce and toss to coat completely. Add pasta water if you need to thin out the sauce a bit. Plate pasta and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and basil.

Simple Tomato Sauce:
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 (32-ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
2 dried bay leaves
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, optional

In a large casserole pot, heat oil over medium high heat. Add onion and garlic and saute until soft and translucent, about 5 to 10 minutes. Add celery and carrots and season with salt and pepper. Saute until all the vegetables are soft, about 5 to 10 minutes. Add tomatoes and bay leaves and simmer uncovered on low heat for 1 hour or until thick. Remove bay leaves and check for seasoning. If sauce still tastes acidic, add unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon at a time to round out the flavors.
Add 1/2 the tomato sauce into the bowl of a food processor. Process until smooth. Continue with remaining tomato sauce.

If not using all the sauce, allow it to cool completely and pour 1 to 2 cup portions into freezer plastic bags. This will freeze up to 6 months.

Yield: 6 cups

My fun afternoon with the littlest of person in my house. First we went to Saint Matthews Thrift store Picked up a bunch of fabrics for only 8.5 which when we got home was measured to be over 30yards of truly vintage fabrics and very few that were new pieces. Oh and I must tell you the ladies at Saint Matthews are so sweet.

We then went to lunch as we had gone past the BIG M prior to heading to Saint Matthews when my little guy pops his head up and says "CHICKEN & FRIES MOMMY" so, with a bribe to be very good in the store and mommy will surely buy Mr. Donalds for you when we get finished. I really love the BIG M by our small little town, it's decor are of the 50's and 60's . The restaurant overlooks one of the big lakes here and we just love taking the kids there for a treat. Once lunch was over and I was stuffed like a turkey, we headed out to the Beymer Thrift House, where we found our newly adopted stuffie. Their names are RED for now until we change it. They quitely sit upon my desk as I type and the glimps of them just cheers me up. WOw, we had a busy Thursday which was a change .

Normally we would go fabric hunting on Fridays but, we changed up our routine this week. Ok enough of me blabber in on... much love take care.

How can once say that we don't love online creative toys?

I'm browsing through some really interesting Flickr toys and thought I would make a badge. Having said that I have also been browsing some interesting blogs lately and have found that blogs have now become the essay competition. There's a couple of blogs I find that the bloggers just seem to write a novel of some sort. This is what i think blogs should be all about 1. Interesting to ready, not write about the same boring things over and over in every blog, 2. really nice pictures. ..Wow now that I have said what I needed to say, all you bloggers keep it short , sweet and keep us all intrigued to come back to your blog tomorrow. Don't scare us away as we browse many blogs and are limited to how much time we can spend on one blog.

Now go write a blog! a short one that is.

So i found myself in the wee afternoon hours heading to the big arches for some of my little guy's favs.. nuggets and fries..

While sitting at the local donald house I was just haunted to go bargain browsing. Here i am trying to save on funds and thinking about spending already.

I've been thinking that i spend way too much time on the puter - and it's not motivating me at all. So, for a little while I will be posting the occasional interesting tidbit of info for you all to read how wonderful my life is.

I found at the local walmart these finds.. the tv dinner plates were only .50cents a piece. Apparently walmart is having a huge clearance right now.
